James Locksmith
Biography
James Locksmith is a DJ and producer from Sydney living in Dubai. For overDJ a decade across the globe, he has entertained music lovers at beach bars, festivals, late night clubs, warehouse parties and on the airwaves. Since the late nineties he has worked with some of the world’s most influential music organisations, brands, artists and has produced world class events. In Sydney he regularly appeared on many independent stations and for 6 years he worked for Australia’s number one, FBi Radio 94.5FM as a specialist music radio host.
Dedicated to emerging music, a founding member of the DUST parties in Dubai www.dustdxb.com, which have showcased a list of international and regional artists throughout the UAE, the Middle East and now into Greece. James is also part of the Third Eye Agency team Dubai (Electric Days, Vibe Series), a regular at Pacha Dubai and is producing events and performing at The Basement and Zero Gravity.
Since early 2012 he has been part of the development of Red Bull Music Academy, RBMA Bass Camp in Dubai and the region. He also developed, launch and is a host for RBMA Radio Middle East, Quarter Tone Frequency www.rbmaradio.com/qtf
James regularly performs at many of Dubai’s top venues and events, and within the region. Recognised internationally for spinning electronic, global, disco, dance music, he has performed alongside heroes like Giles Peterson (BBC 6 UK), Pat Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem NYC), Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area NYC), Kenny Dope (Masters At Work NYC), Femi Kuti (Nigeria), Mr Scruff (Ninja Tunes UK), Omar Souleyman (Syria), Benji B (Deviation, BBC 1 UK), John Morales (M+M Productions NYC) and Nickodemus (Wonderwheel NYC), to name drop a few.
